Tuned Global strikes deal to power relaunched African music streaming app WAW MUZIK

B2B music streaming technology specialist Tuned Global has partnered with African streaming service WAW MUZIK to support a major relaunch of the platform’s app.

With the revamped app initially relaunching in Côte d’Ivoire, WAW MUZIK says that it expects to expand into additional French-speaking African territories.

Tuned Global has previously worked on custom apps for the likes of Warner Music Group (on a custom Ed Sheeran app), and Universal Music Group and Pizza Hut, and its technology also powers the UFC Ultimate Sounds app in the US, and Deedo, a Pan-African streaming service in Europe and Africa.

Tuned Global is also active in the fitness industry.

The new partnership will see WAW MUZIK integrate its own front-end app with Tuned Global’s Streaming Service APIs.

Tuned Global says that it will “also provide improved management of the entire supply chain to ensure new releases are available quickly with increased security,” delivering a catalog of over 14 million tracks from labels and distributors such as Universal Music Group, Believe, Idol and Keyzit.

Under their partnership with mobile operator Orange, WAW MUZIK will continue to function using a subscription model through the telecommunications network to allow both mobile money and airtime payments.

Tuned Global’s experience in emerging countries across South East Asia and African markets includes partnerships with African DSPs Deedo and Jabaa.

The company recently partnered with Thailand’s largest media and entertainment conglomerate, GMM Grammy, to launch Plern, the country’s first localized streaming app.

“Tuned Global’s APIs give us ready-made access to advanced streaming features that allow us to provide the best possible service for our customers.”
