John Dawkins has been appointed UK Managing Director at Various Artists Management.
Dawkins’ appointment is effective immediately, and he will be based in London.
He will work closely with David Bianchi, Group CEO.
As a partner at the company for five years, Dawkins has helped oversee the careers of Charli XCX, The Enemy, Shed Seven and others.
Dawkins currently manages Tom Grennan, whose latest album Evering Road went to No.1 in the UK album chart earlier this year and has since achieved Gold status.
At the time of writing, Grennan was the only male artist in the UK other than Drake to have three Top 10 singles in the UK in 2021 and has sold over 50,000 tickets to his live shows in the UK.
Starting his music industry career as a tour manager, Dawkins relocated to Los Angeles in 2003 and worked within the international live sector with artists and clients such as Boy Kill Boy, Bloc Party, Alexisonfire, The NME tour, The Warped Tour, Rise Against, Amen, The Bled and Converge.
In 2007, Dawkins was awarded an ambassadorship by his home city of Coventry for services to the city, after the success of the platinum selling No.1 The Enemy album We’ll Live And Die In These Towns.
The Enemy sold over 1.5 million records and had four Top 10 albums.
Other artists that Dawkins is currently manages include Rose Gray, Chappaqua Wrestling, Mugun, Frankie Beetlestone, Zuzu and Elli Ingram.
