Another senior Spotify exec out as Graham James exits

Spotify‘s US communications head Graham James is stepping down after six and a half years with the company.

Based in New York, James was the first communications hire for the streaming service in the US, joining shortly after its launch in 2011, reports Variety.

Since November, James has reported to former Target exec Dustee Jenkins, who is Spotify’s global head of comms and public policy, and continues to lead a worldwide team.

James joins a number of senior Spotify executives out the door following the streaming service’s successful IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in April.

Those include Global Head of Creator Services Troy Carter, International Shows & Editorial boss George Ergatoudis, plus senior marketing and comms exec Angela Watts, Global Head of Artist & Label Marketing, Dave Rocco and Global Head of Artist & Industry Partnerships Mark Williamson.

Other recent senior departures at Spotify have included the defection of Tuma Basa to YouTube Music, as well as the exit of UK/international Head of Artist & Label Services, Kevin Brown.Music Business Worldwide
