Nashville-based media and technology company Visionary Media Group launched earlier this year with, what it says, is a “mission is to illuminate innovative American stories through the power of connected music, media, and technology”.

MBW understands that the company has received investment of over $5 million to date from its parent company Visionary Private Equity Group (VPEG), which invests in early stage, high growth companies in a number of areas, including “disruptive technology” and connectivity, and entertainment and media.

Visionary Media Group hit headlines in recent months after signing a deal with the estate of Cowboy Jack Clement in May, with a feature film and an album in the works. The company also signed Grammy- nominated singer-songwriter Leigh Nash, who rose to fame as the lead singer of Sixpence None the Richer.

In addition to its music-related work, which according to the company’s website includes “creating revolutionary experiences for top-tier artists,” Visionary also says that its aim is to “build technological tools that artists and other creatives can use and then get out of the way to let them tell their story”.

Amongst those tools are soon-to-be released social distribution platform Evernova.

Visionary Media Group’s founding managing partners Ronald Zamber and Nick Sciorra bring a wealth of expertise in the entertainment and digital media industries.

Zamber has been involved with companies in the healthcare, sustainable energy solutions, consumer products, internet technology and media industries.

Among them are award-winning music video production company Fifgen Films, whose clients include John Legend, Pentatonix, Lindsey Stirling, Kenny Rogers, Oak Ridge Boys, Home Free, and Peter Hollens.

Over the course of his 25-year career, Sciorra has worked with the likes of Viacom, The Walt Disney Company, Sony Music-Global Digital Business, Universal Music Group, Warner Media, Verizon-RYOT, Comcast NBCUniversal, Facebook and Google YouTube.

Other Visionary music projects include O.N.E The Duo, mother-daughter country/Americana pair, and The Voice breakout country artist Cody Belew, Clayton Anderson.

“Our approach is to create environments and communities that include a platform where we give the voice – and the power of the voice – to all artists and creatives.”

Zamber said: “The future of media is evolving towards greater democratization.

“It’s about platform reach. Our approach is to create environments and communities that include a platform where we give the voice – and the power of the voice – to all artists and creatives.

“We have a core mission in all of our pursuits to have a positive impact on each and every community we touch.

“What others may see as impossible challenges, we embrace as scalable opportunities, and we’ve built a team that is united and relentless in developing solutions.”

Added Zamber: “It really is empowerment of all of that artistry – all of the talent. It goes way beyond musicians. Visionary Media Group is for every creative out there who struggles to find a community to connect with so they can advance their genius.”

“The evolution of art, technology and media is at a convergence point never seen before – and whether it’s on our platforms or otherwise – this means the folks who never had a voice before, can now bring their voice to bear through actively envisioning and shaping the future.”

Sciorra said: “Empowering artistry isn’t only an artist rolling up to a mic and laying down their first track.

“It’s now also about brilliant technologists, platform designers, digital market makers, and the burgeoning new world of advanced and immersive media. With our innovative approach to purpose- driven, connected creator communities, Visionary Media Group brings it all together.”

Added Sciorra: “Who’s a visionary? It’s not just established artists. It’s the 16-year-old girl from Tuscaloosa who just got her first guitar and who is dreaming of playing her first gig at a local cafe.

“She’s a visionary, too, even if she doesn’t know it quite yet. The evolution of art, technology and media is at a convergence point never seen before – and whether it’s on our platforms or otherwise – this means the folks who never had a voice before, can now bring their voice to bear through actively envisioning and shaping the future.”Music Business Worldwide
