Session signs up as category sponsor at MBW’s 2022 A&R Awards in November

High-profile Sweden-based global music technology company, Session, will be the sponsor of the Rock/Alternative category at this year’s A&R Awards.

The UK music industry’s most enjoyable night out will take place on Tuesday, November 8, at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms.

As ever, the ceremony will celebrate the achievements of various UK execs, songwriters, producers, labels, publishers and managers – and the incredible careers of one or two very special guests.

On joining the party as a main sponsor, Session co-founder (songwriter and producer) Niclas Molinder said: “It’s great to be supporting the A&R Awards and particularly, the Rock/Alternative category.

“Capturing song and recording information may not be a very rock n roll topic, but with this genre accounting for 29% of total consumption across track purchases as well as streaming platforms in the US alone, beating R&B, pop and EDM, it’s even more important that those involved in the creation process are capturing their data from the outset, so that everyone involved can be fairly recognised and rewarded for their work.”

Molinder launched Session alongside fellow Swedish producer Max Martin and ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus earlier this year, with the goal of solving the industry’s ‘black box’ problem, whereby hundreds of millions of dollars fail to reach the correct creators and rightsholders. It delivers collaborative and innovative solutions that help ensure music creators get the credit they deserve.

Many more partners of the A&R Awards will be announced over the next few weeks, to the extent that there are now only four categories left available to sponsor (!), for details please contact Dave@musicbizworldwide.com.

Meanwhile, a VERY limited number of tables are still available via Rebecca@musicbizworldwide.com – but they won’t be for long.

Other categories at the 2022 event will include Songwriter of the Year, Producer of The Year, A&R of the Year: Adult Contemporary, A&R Administrator, A&R of The Year: Contemporary Black Music, A&R Of The Year: Electronic/Dance, Song of the Year, Major Label of The Year, Independent Label of The Year, Publisher of the Year, Management Company, and Artist To Watch (in association with Vevo), plus A&R Icon, and, of course, The Sir George Martin Award.

The headline sponsor of the A&R Awards is, as always, Abbey Road Studios.Music Business Worldwide
