Music+Sport partners with Live Nation

Music+Sport, the company behind ‘Jockey Club Live’ the successful joint venture with the UK’s leading racecourse group, Jockey Club Racecourses, has announced a new partnership with Live Nation.

The news comes after a year-long partnership with LN rival AEG Live.

Live Nation will now provide live music promotion expertise to Music+Sport, and will assume responsibility for booking artists to appear at the company’s forthcoming shows from summer 2016 onwards as well as developing music concerts alongside major sporting events.

Andrew Wilkinson and Simon Halden launched Music+Sport in 2013.

Wilkinson and Halden have between them worked with numerous international artists including Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Take That and Kylie Minogue among others.

Wilkinson is the founder of concert tour production and management company KingStreet Tours, while Halden founded Sports & Outdoor Media International PLC and The Frontiers Group.

“This is a natural fit to extend a relationship in order to deliver the expansion we both believe is attainable.”

‘Jockey Club Live,’ the company’s partnership with The Jockey Club, was established to increase the popularity and commercial success of live music events at the 15 Jockey Club owned racecourses around the UK.

In 2015 the company expanded their portfolio to include live music promotions at major cricket matches and have plans to promote similar shows at a range of other sporting events.

Artists who featured in Music+Sport’s series of 2015 concerts, which attracted hundreds of thousands of music fans, included Kylie Minogue – whose two sold out shows played to over 40,000 people alone – Sir Tom Jones, Kaiser Chiefs and McBusted among others.

Andrew Wilkinson, CEO of Music+Sport said. “Live Nation is a globally successful company with unrivalled experience of working with the world’s biggest artists. Having Paul Latham and his fantastic team partner with Music+Sport is a huge coup for us and adds real strength to our offering.

“We have enjoyed an extremely successful first two years during which time we have built a strong brand, developed a fantastic partnership with the Jockey Club and introduced music shows at cricket matches into our portfolio.

“We are hugely ambitious and have some really exciting plans for extending our activities in 2016, which Live Nation are going to help bring to fruition.”

Paul Latham, COO International, Live Nation said, “Live Nation have supplied artists to Music+Sport throughout their existence and they have built an excellent series of events. It is a natural fit to extend that relationship in order to deliver the expansion we both believe is attainable.”
