Republic Records Advances Alex Coslov to EVP of Marketing Strategy, Republic Records & Head of Marketing, Mercury Records

Alex Coslov

Republic Records promotes Alex Coslov to Executive Vice President of Marketing Strategy, Republic Records & Head of Marketing, Mercury Records—as announced today by Republic Records Co-President Jim Roppo and Mercury Records President Tyler Arnold.

In this dual-role, Mr. Coslov continues to lead marketing for blockbuster releases by artists across genres such as Morgan Wallen [Big Loud], Glass Animals, Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, Greta Van Fleet, Florence + The Machine, Noah Kahan, James Blake, Yung Gravy and more.

Among many highlights, Wallen’s blockbuster One Thing At A Time crashed the Billboard 200 at No.1 with over 500K units sold first-week, while Glass Animals earned the “#1 Hot 100 Record of the Year for 2022” with “Heat Waves.”

Regarding the news, Mr. Roppo commented, “Alex intimately understands his artists at a core level. He speaks their language and immerses himself in their respective worlds for every single release. This is his superpower. By doing so, he develops innovative campaigns that reflect their identities and, simultaneously, engage audiences from a fresh perspective. It’s an honor to announce his promotion.”

Coslov said, “When people ask what sets Republic apart, the answer is pretty simple— Monte, Avery, Wendy and Jim are the true Republic difference. Monte and Avery know how to win better than anyone. Jim is my mentor, and it is a privilege to call him that. I value his leadership, counsel, and knowledge over anyone. Tyler and Ben are two of the smartest, most accomplished, and thoughtful executives I have ever worked with. We have been close collaborators for 5 years now and I can’t wait for this next chapter building Mercury Records together.”

Coslov served as Republic’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy since 2021. He initially joined Republic Records in 2017 as Vice President of Marketing Strategy and has since become a 4x CLIO Award Winner.

Prior, he spent four years at Ultra Music where he led the Marketing Department. He also worked as a business and legal affairs intern at SESAC and launched his career with internships at Epic Records and Red Light Management. He is a graduate of Syracuse University. Billboard notably named Mr. Coslov among its coveted “40 Under 40” for 2021, and Variety touted him among its 2021 & 2022 “Hitmakers and Hitbreakers.”

He is based in the Republic Records New York headquarters.
