Description
About Warp Records
Warp is a leading independent record company releasing music by ground-breaking and influential artists, including Aphex Twin, Danny Brown, Kelela, Squid, Yves Tumor, Oneohtrix Point Never, Nala Sinephro, Stereolab, and many more across our family of labels–including Warp Records, LuckyMe, and On-U Sound as well as others.
Job Description
We’re looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented, and digitally savvy person to join our Operations team. You’ll help manage how Warp’s music is distributed, represented, protected, and monetised across digital streaming and download services, social platforms, and user-generated content (UGC).
This is a varied, hands-on role spanning digital distribution, rights management, UGC monetisation, content protection, catalogue optimisation, and DSP operations. You’ll monitor our releases across digital platforms, help resolve distribution and metadata issues, manage UGC claims and rights conflicts, identify and fix missing or broken monetisation, support anti-piracy and fraudulent streaming activity, and help ensure Warp’s catalogue is represented accurately across digital services. You’ll work with a wide range of platforms, systems, data, metadata, and digital assets, collaborating with teams across Warp as well as our distribution and digital partners. The ideal candidate will be methodical, inquisitive, highly organised, and comfortable working with systems and detailed information. You’ll enjoy investigating problems, understanding how things work, spotting when something isn’t right, and following issues through to resolution. You’ll be able to balance planned work with unexpected and sometimes time-sensitive issues, communicate proactively, and take ownership of your responsibilities while knowing when to ask for support or escalate an issue.
You don’t need to arrive as an expert in digital distribution or music rights. We’re looking for someone with a strong interest in digital music, streaming, technology, the ways music is monetised online, and a desire to build specialist operational expertise in this area. You’ll bring a hunger to learn, a continual-improvement mindset, and genuine curiosity about how great operational work powers both our artists and the label. This is a chance to build specialist expertise in one of the fastest-moving areas of the music industry, spanning distribution, metadata, UGC, rights management, content protection, fraud, and emerging digital technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day digital distribution, release monitoring, digital delivery support, and pre-release leak monitoring and response
- Manage day-to-day UGC claims and rights management, ensuring usage is fully identified, claimed, and monetised
- Implement operational activity in response to viral moments and emerging opportunities
- Manage digital infringement identification and asset and rights protection
- Manage fraudulent streaming monitoring, investigation, and appeals processes, working with partners to challenge incorrect activity and protect legitimate revenue
- Manage YouTube partnered channels, monetisation monitoring, and MCN operations
- Manage day-to-day support of DSP queries and issues
- Manage artist page optimisation across DSPs and UGC platforms, release linking, and catalogue display
- Support digital distribution, catalogue, and rights backfill, clean-up, and improvement projects internally and across DSPs and UGC platforms
Skills & Experience – Required
- Relevant work experience, knowledge, or education in music, media, operations, technology, supply chain, digital platforms, social media/content management, or another related area
- Desire to build a career within record label operations and develop specialist expertise in digital distribution
- Excitement for digital music, streaming, social platforms, and technology, with a genuine interest in how music reaches audiences and generates revenue across digital services
- Commercially aware
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong interest in working with music metadata, rights information, digital asset files, digital streaming platforms, and social media UGC monetisation
- Comfortable working with large amounts of detailed information and data
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills; able to follow an issue through multiple systems or sources of information, identify what has gone wrong, and work towards a resolution
- Highly organised and able to prioritise and track multiple pieces of work through to completion, balancing recurring responsibilities and planned projects with unexpected or time-sensitive issues
- Proactive communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills; comfortable chasing information, keeping their manager informed, and escalating issues when necessary
- Positive, solutions-oriented, and proactive, with a continual-improvement mindset; willing to take ownership of problems, suggest better ways of working, and help implement improvements
- Good with systems, processes, and technology; quick learner, able to easily pick up new systems and ways of working and understand how they fit together in the bigger picture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an appreciation for accurate grammar, spelling, and syntax; able to explain information, processes, statuses, issues, and actions clearly and concisely to others
- Able to work independently within defined processes and standards, while recognising when something needs investigation, support, or escalation
- Collaborative working style and ability to work effectively across teams including Release Management, Streaming/Sales, Marketing, and other Operations functions
Skills & Experience – Desirable
- Previous experience working within a record label, distributor, DSP, music technology company, rights organisation, social platform, or other digital music business
- Familiarity with digital music distribution
- Experience using digital distribution platforms such as FUGA or similar services
- Experience with YouTube CMS/Content ID, Meta Rights Manager, TikTok, or other UGC/content-rights platforms
- Understanding of music metadata and identifiers such as ISRCs, UPCs, and catalogue numbers
- Basic understanding of master recording rights, digital licensing, UGC claiming, copyright infringement, and digital monetisation
- Experience investigating metadata, delivery, rights, claiming, monetisation, or platform issues
- Experience communicating clearly with people with different levels of technical knowledge and explain operational or technical issues in straightforward language
- Experience working with high-volume administrative or operational processes where accuracy, consistency, and following defined rules are important
- Strong spreadsheet skills and confidence working with structured data
- Experience working with APIs, data feeds, FTPs, dashboards, reporting tools, or interconnected business systems
