Description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join our growing music merchandise business and take a leading role in how we market our artists and brands to fans around the world.

As part of whynow’s central marketing team, this role will be embedded day-to-day within our e-commerce and merchandise business, working closely with the teams responsible for our artist stores, products and campaigns and you’ll shape how we go to market, from campaign strategy and CRM to merchandising, creative, customer experience and product development.

Our merchandise business is only four years old and growing rapidly, with new artists and stores joining the roster. There is significant scale and an exceptional portfolio to work with, and there are plenty of opportunities to introduce new ideas and shape how we work.

You’ll lead the planning and delivery of campaigns around product launches, releases, anniversaries, seasonal moments and wider brand activity, working directly with artist and management teams to create campaigns that engage fans and drive sales.

We are looking for a rounded, commercially minded marketer who combines excellent account management and strong CRM experience, a current understanding of the music industry and confidence to bring ideas of their own. Someone who understands how merchandise fits into wider artist campaigns, and how customer and performance insights can improve decision making.

This position is full-time and offered as a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the e-commerce marketing plan across our artist and magazine stores, setting clear priorities and ensuring activity supports sales, audience and wider campaign goals.
  • Shape and manage the marketing calendar around artist releases, product launches, anniversaries, key retail moments and other opportunities, turning business priorities into clear, integrated campaign plans.
  • Lead our CRM and email programme in Klaviyo, working closely with the Senior Digital Marketing Executive on campaign planning, segmentation, automation, lifecycle journeys, testing, quality assurance, deliverability and performance optimisation.
  • Act as a key marketing contact for artist management teams, understanding their priorities, providing clear recommendations and ensuring campaigns are on-brand and delivered against the agreed goals.
  • Bring marketing and user insights into merchandise planning to influence product launches, creative, merchandising, store experience and future opportunities.
  • Coordinate campaign delivery across teams, working closely with e-commerce, design, tech, editorial, social and paid media teams to ensure campaigns are aligned and launched consistently to a high standard.
  • Use customer, campaign and sales data to improve performance and identify opportunities across acquisition, conversion, retention and repeat purchase.
  • Create and maintain consistent UTM tracking across digital campaigns, sharing correctly tagged links with relevant teams to support accurate attribution and performance reporting.
  • Maintain strong measurement and reporting standards, with clear KPIs, consistent campaign tracking and regular performance reporting for internal stakeholders, while using automation and AI tools to make analysis faster, clearer and actionable.
  • Identify practical improvements to store performance, customer experience and conversion, using tools such as GA4, Google Merchant Center and Google Search Console where relevant.
  • Support and develop the Senior Digital Marketing Executive, providing direction, feedback and guidance while helping improve the processes and ways of working that support effective campaign delivery.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 4-5 years relevant experience in CRM, digital marketing, or e-commerce marketing including hands-on ownership of campaigns and delivery.
  • Strong CRM and email marketing knowledge using Klaviyo or similar platform, including campaign creation, segmentation, automation, lifecycle journeys, testing, reporting, deliverability and list management.
  • A strong understanding of the music industry and how artist campaigns work across releases, album cycles, touring, merchandising and D2C marketing.
  • A strong understanding of how e-commerce teams and calendars operate, with experience coordinating on products, stock, creative, websites and promotional activity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, account management and stakeholder-management skills, with confidence working directly with artist teams, management or external partners.
  • Exceptional organisation, project management and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple brands, launches, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • A commercially minded approach, with the ability to interpret customer, campaign and sales data and turn it into clear actions and recommendations.
  • The confidence to bring creative thinking and proven approaches from previous campaigns, and adapting them for new opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, consent management, list hygiene and responsible customer-data practices.
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset, comfortable moving between strategic planning and hands-on delivery in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience working with artist teams or management, or in music, artist management, a record label, entertainment e-commerce or an agency serving similar clients.
  • Experience with Shopify and working knowledge of GA4, Google Merchant Center and Google Search Console.
  • A good understanding of Google products (such as Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs), Slack, Asana and Shopify.
  • Experience creating effective marketing assets in Canva or Photoshop, or briefing and managing creative teams and freelancers.
  • Experience using automation, AI tools, or reporting platforms.
  • Previous experience managing, mentoring or informally supporting another team member.
  • An interest in music, culture, digital media and evolving CRM and e-commerce best practice.
