OBJECTIVE:
The Part-Time Studio Manager is Saban Music Partners’ main point of contact for all studio tasks and ensures that the studio runs as efficiently as possible. In this dynamic position, the Recording Studio Manager serves as a key component of the SMP team, assisting with the day-to-day administrative and needs of artists and executives while also helping to provide a best-in-class recording experience of all guests. This position is responsible for opening and closing of the studio, booking rooms for artists, prepping studio ahead of sessions, and managing instruments and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and coordinate as needed all aspects of Saban Music Partners’ professional in-house recording studio
- Maintain all aspects of scheduling each studio’s room
- Open and close facility as needed, maintaining security, privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Ensure all equipment is working properly and quickly coordinate repairs as necessary, including preventative maintenance and proper system protection
- Maintain, track and secure inventory of equipment, instruments and microphones
- Assist talent, engineers and VIPs as necessary including locating the correct gear, preparing computer / software, ordering meals, getting coffee, etc.
- Maintain open lines of communication with Saban teams at all times
- Coordinate meetings, assist executives on-site and remotely, and other administrative duties as required
- Load-in & load-out of band equipment and rental equipment when necessary
- Set-up and break-down of audio equipment when needed
- Assist with cabling and patching of microphones, DIs, and assisting with backline set-up if needed
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be flexible regarding hours; availability on nights/weekends required
- 2-year/college degree in music or related field required
- Recording and/or mixing studio experience required
- Junior Engineer experience on the specific DAW (i.e., Logic, Pro Tools) preferred
- Basic knowledge of publishing and recording paperwork preferred (split sheets and on the spot recording session journals)
- Must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to escalate issues as appropriate
- Experience in and passion for the music industry; interest in developing a career in the industry
- Strong technical / computer skills including experience working with Outlook, Excel, Work and PowerPoint required
- Ability to work well with others and interact comfortably, effectively and professionally with external partners
- Ability to work under high pressure and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible, able to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
- Able to lift and move equipment up to 25lbs; open to working in an environment with moderate to loud noise level
