You will serve as a Rights Coordinator supporting the Rights Department by managing music rights, tracking royalties, and ensuring compliance with copyright laws and industry standards. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and organizing music rights data. The ideal candidate has experience in music publishing, copyright law, royalty administration, and performance rights organizations (PROs).

To be successful, you should have:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in music copyright administration, licensing, royalty management, or music publishing preferred.
Strong knowledge of copyright law, licensing practices, and domestic and international PROs, CMOs, the MLC, and neighboring rights organizations, including familiarity with international copyright laws and practices.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, solid written and verbal communication, and proficiency in music copyright databases, publishing administration portals, and industry software.
Ability to travel as needed and collaborate across teams, with a preferred understanding of music publishing and distribution agreements, performance rights, neighboring rights, and related music rights.
Your responsibilities as the Rights Coordinator will include:

Copyright & Database Management: Maintain and update databases of musical works, rights holders, licenses, and key dates; research ownership, splits, and royalty sources across PROs/CMOs, SoundExchange, publisher portals, and other industry platforms.
Rights Administration & Documentation: Support accurate recordkeeping of ownership, licensing, agreements, and royalty income; assist with Letters of Direction and rights/revenue transfers.
Contract Support: Collaborate with Rights and Business Affairs teams to track key contract dates, acquisitions, and compliance requirements.
Licensing & Royalty Support: assist with licensing andsupport the team in administering royalties for a rapidly growing catalog of legendary music.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, years of relevant experience, business needs, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by Primary Wave. The salary range is subject to change at any time and depends on internal and external factors.
