Epitaph Records is looking for a Publicist.
We are seeking a music publicist to lead and execute campaigns across our roster of artists. This role is responsible for driving impactful media coverage, shaping artist narratives, and ensuring cohesive messaging across album releases and touring activity.
The Publicist will serve as the primary point of contact for press, building strong relationships with national, regional, and online media while representing the label at artist appearances and key events.
The ideal candidate has a strong network of traditional press and digital media contacts, writing skills, and hands-on experience executing album and touring campaigns within the music industry.
This position reports directly to the President of Epitaph and works closely with marketing directors, digital marketing, artist managers, and touring teams to ensure unified and effective campaign rollouts.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute comprehensive publicity campaigns for artist releases, securing features, interviews, premieres, and meaningful coverage across print, online, and emerging platforms.
Support touring campaigns in key markets by coordinating previews, features, interviews, and on-site media opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with national, regional, and digital media outlets.
Develop press materials in collaboration with artists, managers, and marketing directors, including press releases, artist bios, quote sheets, publicity photos, and full press kits.
Write and/or edit press releases, artist biographies, and related copy that clearly communicates campaign narratives.
Coordinate interviews and media appearances between artists, tour managers, and journalists.
Collaborate closely with marketing and digital teams to align messaging, timing, and rollout strategy across releases and touring activity.
Track press coverage, maintain outreach records, and provide campaign reporting.
Requirements:
2+ years of publicity experience in the music industry, ideally at a record label or PR agency.
Established relationships with music, culture, and entertainment media.
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft press releases, artist bios and media communications
Experience managing album, single, and touring press campaigns from announcement through release.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
Willingness to travel and represent the label at artist appearances and events as needed.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

This is a full-time position with competitive benefits. Starting salary is $65k/year, commensurate with experience.
