Label and Artist Management – Executive Assistant & Coordinator
This role provides executive assistance to the Managing Director (MD), as well as managing the administrative and operational backbone of a modern music business, focusing on management and label responsibilities. The MD’s role also includes running a fast-growing promotions agency. The goal is to grow into a General Manager (GM) position as the business expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Label Operations & Release Administration: Oversee the music release pipeline, including A&R to distribution. Manage music rights (master and publishing) administration, create label copy, and coordinate with publishers/collection societies. Provide marketing support (digital, short-form, socials, CRM/direct marketing) and assist with live touring elements. Help draft and coordinate contracts (e.g., producer agreements) with lawyers.
- Financial & Business Compliance: Coordinate royalty administration and distribution. Handle financial administration for budgeting and release reporting. Liaise with accountants/business managers.
- Executive & Operational Support: Proactively manage the MD’s high-volume email inbox and complex calendar, ensuring prompt follow-ups. Manage and update essential business systems, including CRM and digital asset libraries.
- Technology & AI Oversight: Understand AI system building and emerging digital workflows to assist the MD in creating systems that streamline administrative tasks.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Music Industry Acumen: Minimum 4 years experience at a record label, distributor, publisher, or artist management company.
- Knowledge: Clear understanding of music rights, music publishing, release cycles, reporting, budgeting, and the digital music marketing mix.
- Administrative Excellence: Exceptional organisation, attention to detail, and proven experience managing complex administrative functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Cultural Fit: Proactive, problem-solving self-starter with a “can-do” approach and a willingness to take ownership.
- Network (Ideal): A small existing industry network.
Compensation & Working Arrangements
- Salary: Circa £35,000 per annum.
- Holiday: 25 days annual leave.
- Location: Hybrid working with mandatory in-office presence:
- 2 days per week in the Leighton Buzzard office.
- At least 1 day per week in the Central London office.
