Description
Duties include but not limited to:
- Input and track a high volume of catalog sale and other opportunities from initial conversation to close
- Interpret a wide variety of statements and data from various royalty payors across the industry for data room completeness
- Follow up with third party buyers, lawyers, accountants, managers and other stakeholders to ensure deals are moving quickly and effectively
- Proactively obtain missing statements, contracts, and info from various selling parties and share with interested buying/funding parties
- Manage and participate in a heavy calendar of meetings with various stakeholders across the music, finance, and entertainment industry
- Various ongoing projects to research prospective catalog buyers and acquisition targets
Respond promptly to diligence questions and data requests from buyers, liaising between the various teams in the ecosystem - Work with RYLTY team to implement outreach and organization strategy for catalog outreach
- Maintain, organize, and grow database of contacts, buyers, stakeholders, conferences, etc
- Contribute to company press and ad strategy and implementation
- Use or create tools to build leads and quicken turn around time and optimize deal flow triage
- Manage interns and liaise with third party vendors and partners
- Communicating regularly and effectively with the team
- Read and interpret entertainment contracts at a basic to intermediate level
Skills and Interests required:
- Demonstrable experience or passionate interest in music. Finance, accounting, private equity, or business school exposure preferred
- Interest in business development in music and finance
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google sheets and Docs - Aptitude with numbers
- Good organizational and design skills
- Some basic familiarity with music rights and the music business ecosystem
- Ability to multitask and manage time to prioritize tasks
- Must be self-motivated with an intellectual curiosity
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of a foreign language is a plus
Those seeking a creative, marketing, or A&R role in music need not apply. This is a junior level role and the final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
This a full-time, salaried, hybrid role, with high flexibility to work from home. New York City area preferred but open to candidates in other major music hubs like Los Angeles or Nashville. Health insurance and vacation time offered
