Social Media & Global Digital Marketing Manager (Freelance), Phono Sounds UK
PHONO SOUNDS UK is an independent record label, publisher, distributor and events company specialising in Dance and Electronic Music. We’re looking for a passionate, creative and results-driven Social Media & Global Digital Marketing Manager to help grow our artists, releases, events and global community. - Working Hours Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10:00am – 2:00pm (Flexible) more hours added if needed by approval
- Salary £15–£20 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for increased responsibility and long-term progression based on performance

About the Role
As our Social Media & Global Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll take ownership of our digital presence across the label, artists and events. You’ll develop creative marketing campaigns, manage social media channels, grow online communities and help maximisethe success of our music releases.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play an active role in a growing independent record label with the freedom to contribute ideas and shape marketing strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing
Artist Marketing
- Develop and execute creative marketing campaigns for new releases
- Create long-term artist development strategies
- Work closely with artists, designers and the label team to deliver engaging campaigns
Social Media Management
- Manage all social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Plan content calendars and publish engaging content. Write compelling captions, articles and promotional copy
- Monitor trends and adapt strategies to maximise engagement
Digital Marketing
- Plan, manage and optimise Meta and Google advertising campaigns
- Analyse campaign performance and produce clear reports
- Recommend improvements based on data and audience behaviour
Audience Growth
Grow and engage our audience across:
- Website
- Spotify
- YouTube
- Newsletter
- WhatsApp Community
- Discord
- Other emerging platforms
Event Marketing
- Promote club events and live shows
- Drive ticket sales through digital campaigns
- Coordinate promotional content before and after events
Community Management
- Build strong relationships with fans and artists
- Manage online communities and encourage meaningful engagement
- Maintain an active and authentic brand voice
Website & SEO
- Update website content
- Improve SEO performance
- Optimise artist and release pages for search engines
Streaming & Music Marketing
- Optimise Spotify for Artists profiles
- Develop playlist pitching strategies
- Increase streaming performance across digital platforms
About You
You’ll be someone who is passionate about Dance and Electronic Music and genuinely understands today’s digital landscape.
You should have
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Social Media and Digital Marketing (music industry preferred)
- Excellent copywriting and communication skills
- Experience managing multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X and emerging social platforms
- Experience running Meta Ads and Google Ads
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, Spotify for Artists and social media insights
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or OpenStage
- Experience using WhatsApp marketing tools
- Experience managing Discord servers or online communities
- Good understanding of SEO and website content management
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- A proactive attitude with the confidence to work independently
- A genuine passion for Dance and Electronic Music
