Description

Day-to-Day Artist Manager, 5B

5B Artist Management is looking for a Day-to-Day Artist Manager to join our Birmingham office and work closely across a roster of established international artists. This is a hands-on role supporting artists across all areas of their business, with a particular focus on touring, recorded music, merchandise, and the day-to-day operation of high-level artist campaigns. The role is suited to someone with a strong understanding of how a modern artist business functions, who is highly organised, commercially aware, comfortable working with budgets and genuinely invested in heavy music and the culture around it.

You will be working across a wide range of responsibilities, helping to coordinate the moving parts of an artist’s career, and acting as a key point of contact between the artist, management team, and wider business partners. This will include supporting touring activity, album campaigns, merchandise strategy, live opportunities, approvals, budgets, schedules, brand partnerships, and general day-to-day artist management administration. A key part of the role is accurate day-to-day budgeting, financial tracking and maintaining a clear overview of artist income streams, so you should be comfortable working in spreadsheets and handling detailed financial information with care. You should also be comfortable working across multiple time zones, handling sensitive information and keeping momentum across a fast-moving workload where priorities can shift quickly.

Key responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management support across all aspects of an artist’s business, with a focus on touring, recorded music, merchandise, and live activity
  • Building, maintaining and updating day-to-day budgets across touring, recording, merchandise, and other artist projects
  • Tracking costs, advances, settlements, and artist income streams across multiple areas of the business, ensuring information is accurate, organised and up to date
  • Working confidently in spreadsheets to manage budgets, forecasts, reconciliations, project costs, and general financial oversight
  • Coordinating with agents, business managers, record labels, publishers, merch partners, promoters, lawyers, and other key stakeholders
  • Supporting album and release campaigns, live activity, touring schedules, approvals, and general artist operations
  • Assisting with merchandise planning and oversight, including product development, launch timelines and partner communication
  • Managing schedules, internal planning documents, deadlines, travel logistics and artist-facing communications
  • Monitoring and helping to progress commercial opportunities including brand partnerships, collaborations, and artist-led product initiatives
  • Supporting international touring and project planning, including immigration and visa processes, tax considerations, and cross-border logistics
  • Maintaining a clear overview of ongoing priorities across multiple artist campaigns and ensuring follow-through across the wider team
  • Helping to identify issues before they become problems and bringing a calm, solutions-focused approach to day-to-day management

Experience and qualities:

  • Previous experience in artist management, tour management, label management, live music, merchandise, or a related part of the music business
  • A strong working knowledge of the music industry and the commercial and operational side of a modern artist business, particularly touring, recorded music and merchandise
  • Strong financial organisation skills, with experience building and maintaining budgets, tracking project costs, and keeping oversight of multiple artist income streams
  • Confidence working in spreadsheets and handling detailed financial information accurately and consistently
Familiarity with artist agreements, immigration, and visa processes, withholding taxes and general international tax considerations as they relate to touring artists
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with artists, managers, and external partners in a professional way
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where discretion, flexibility and reliability are essential
  • A genuine connection to heavy music and an understanding of the culture, audience, and world around it
  • Based in Birmingham or willing to travel to Birmingham daily for an office-based role
  • Willing and able to travel as required, sometimes at short notice

The role:
This is an office-based role from our Birmingham space in Digbeth, with travel forming a key part of the job when needed. The environment is relaxed, creative and informal, but the work is high level and detail driven. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a serious artist management operation, takes pride in supporting artists at a high standard and is motivated by doing the work properly.
