Description
Round Hill Music is a creative music company with a core focus on music publishing. With offices in London, Nashville, and New York, the company offers a comprehensive music publishing division—complete with robust sync and copyright administration—alongside a music production library business. We work with great songs, deliver premiere client service, and ultimately try to achieve maximum value from the music we represent.
We are seeking a technically capable and analytically driven Data Analyst to join our growing Data Analytics team. This role sits at the heart of our data operations and AI-driven transformation strategy — bridging foundational data work with meaningful contributions to our Claude-powered SKILL library. You will build and maintain reports, conduct analyses that support financial and portfolio decisions, and take an active role in developing and refining AI workflows that automate and enhance processes across Round Hill Music. Candidates with hands-on experience working with music industry data — including royalties, streaming, licensing, publishing, or catalog economics — are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority consideration.
Primary Responsibilities
Core Analytics
- Maintain and improve RHM’s centralized data environment — organizing, cleaning, validating, and documenting data assets across catalog, royalty, and financial domains.
- Build, own, and update dashboards and reports used by internal teams (Finance, Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Operations) to track performance and trends.
- Conduct analysis to support financial, operational, and strategic needs, including catalog valuation support, royalty tracking, and fund-level performance metrics.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues — including missing, inconsistent, or anomalous data — and implement systematic fixes.
- Develop and maintain predictive and forecasting models (e.g., royalty projections, streaming trend analysis) in collaboration with senior team members.
- Collaborate actively with Finance, Operations, Technology, Investor Relations, and senior data team members on cross-functional analytical projects.
AI Strategy & SKILL Development — key focus area
- Contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of Claude-powered AI SKILLs — reusable, domain-specific AI workflows that automate tasks such as document generation, catalog analysis, royalty reporting, and investor materials.
- Work with senior team members and department leads to identify workflow bottlenecks and develop AI-assisted solutions using Claude.
- Develop and refine prompts, structured outputs, and agentic pipelines using Anthropic’s Claude API to support catalog valuation, acquisition analysis, and portfolio monitoring.
- Expand and improve the RHM SKILL library over time, adding capabilities as business needs evolve.
- Document AI workflows, SKILL logic, and prompt architecture to ensure reproducibility, auditability, and knowledge transfer.
- Support responsible AI governance — helping apply guardrails, testing protocols, and quality checks for AI-generated outputs used in investor-facing or regulatory contexts.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Document business processes and maintain clarity around data sources, reporting structures, and analytical methodologies.
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing by creating process guides and workflow documentation
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in data analysis or a closely related role.
- Solid proficiency in SQL and Python (pandas, data manipulation); strong Excel; working experience with BI tools (Power BI preferred).
- Ability to independently own analytical workstreams with moderate supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
- Good communication skills — able to explain analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest in or hands-on experience with AI/LLM tools and workflow automation.
Preferred Experience:
- Music industry data: royalties, streaming analytics, licensing, or catalog valuation
- Knowledge of PROs, royalty data flows, and rights structures
- Hands-on use of LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI) and AI workflow design
- Cloud data tools such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Data governance, metadata, and quality management
- Background in entertainment, media, or financial data environments
What we give you!
-
