Position Summary:
SX International team manages relationships with collective management organisations (CMOs) around the globe. They are responsible for instructing and acting upon the agreements that SX holds globally to collect revenue for our members when their music is used internationally.
At SoundExchange, as a International Relations Manager you will be responsible for maximizing the revenue collections for a portfolio of CMOs. This is an exciting role that includes becoming the lead on a territory and CMO and includes managing the day-to-day relationship and related activities. This includes coordinating operational activity for that CMO with other departments at the company, providing analysis, delivering data and adding value whilst seeking opportunities to increase and drive revenue for our SoundExchange members. This role will work closely with the Senior International Operations Manager and to take ownership of revenue generating activities and lead on specific areas of work including analytics and/or other special projects as required.
Essential Functions:
Manage a portfolio of CMOs to and all the related operational exchange activity
Manage the day-to-day relationship with the CMO including regular touchpoints and virtual meetings.
Develop revenue generating strategies for consideration by management; once approved, design and implement relevant tasks to support delivery.
Undertake planning for management of a portfolio of CMO Accounts, including budgeting and forecasting of revenue for $5m+
Undertake the required activities to accurately, timely, and successfully process the international royalties in our distribution engine
Receive and deliver playlists, repertoire submissions, mandates, feedback files and distribution statements.
Develop a knowledge and documentation base for the CMOs and provide expertise to internal teams on the CMOs
Carry out data manipulation and data activities to support revenue generation and resolution of queries from members
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):
Understanding of key concepts related to music repertoire ownership is mandatory
Able to follow and develop data quality standards, metrics, and audit procedures
Able to synthesize complex documentation for relevant facts to apply to collection strategies including contracts and other publicly available information
Relationship management experience with external partners
Experience with working with relational databases required
Strong aptitude for working with computer systems – exceptional Excel skills required.
Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills
Able to adapt communication style to suit the audience
Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
Strong independent work ethic and team player
Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to excel in an agile, collaborative, dynamic and fast-paced environment
Able to quickly gain proficiency with unfamiliar systems and processes
Able to multi-task and manage multiple high priority projects
Exposure to analytics and data mining methods is a plus
Ability to work with people at all organizational levels
Flexible attitude to work and prepared to go the ‘extra mile’ to achieve tasks, objectives and targets
Bilingual in Spanish, French, Portuguese or another language a plus
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience:
A minimum of 4 years work experience with CMO or neighboring rights experience required
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data, management, or related field preferred (or related experience).
In lieu of degree, a total number of 5 years work experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Travel Requirements:
This position has less than 10% travel requirements
PAY RANGE: $94,000.00 – $112,000.00
