Bright Antenna Records is hiring an experienced Director of Digital Marketing to join our indie label team.
Our in-house team operates as a tight knit family, but we have global partnerships with Sony/Orchard, AWAL Distribution, and Island/Universal. We are looking for a natural marketer willing to make contacts and create meaningful opportunities for our artists.
Must be passionate about music. We are home to amazing bands including Wilderado, PREP, Sports Team, Khatumu, Meg Elsier, Windser, Akira Galaxy, and more. Please check out our artists prior to applying to make sure this is a good fit! Loving the types of music we work with is imperative.
This is a full time, in-person job. Must live in the SF Bay Area or be willing to relocate, and be able to come into our office in Mill Valley, across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.
DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL MARKETING JOB DESCRIPTION (Mill Valley, CA)
❖ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with artists, managers and extended teams to proactively create and implement innovative digital marketing strategies for artist roster, to engage with and grow audiences
- Produce Digital Marketing Plan and Timeline for album and single releases, including detailed steps to execute the plan and budget allocation.
- Digital Marketing Strategy including, but not limited to: content planning, social media approach, partnerships with creators and digital platforms, creative & innovative digital executions, community building, first-party communication and data growth, building & maintaining websites, and budget forecasting.
- Strategize and implement content planning across all core digital channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X & new, relevant platforms as and when they emerge) for all Bright Antenna’s roster
- Closely follow (and create) the latest trends, and proactively strategize ways for our artists and music to lead cultural conversation and internet discourse.
- Work closely with the insights team to gather digital health-checks to analyze audience-related and performance data, and create meaningful reports that can inform artists & managers.
- Devise + implement Artist Database growth and CRM strategy, via both traditional and developing means: email marketing, community-based platforms, messaging services, etc.
- Actively engage with AI, new tech, and emerging innovation topics, to spark fresh ideas for marketing campaigns.
- Find, nurture and grow new digital partnerships.
- Create, pitch, and implement innovative marketing and content opportunities with all digital partners.
- Actively seek out information on evolving digital and tech trends, new platforms & offerings and find crossover areas within other industries in the digital space.
- Work closely & collaboratively with internal team, content producers, creative directors, videographers/photographers, editors and designers to deliver planned content.
❖ WHAT YOU BRING:
- At least 5-7 years experience in digital marketing or social media, preferably in the music or entertainment industries.
- You’re a master of top social platforms, stay ahead of trends, and drive the creation and optimization of killer digital content, bringing your social media savvy and data-driven ideas to the table to maximize artist reach and engagement.
- Experience running engaging and innovative creator partnerships, with a tangible impact on driving campaigns forward.
- Ability to shape and execute cutting-edge digital strategies that elevate BA’s artist roster in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- You have a high interest in AI and new tech; will drive innovation by integrating third-party APIs into product workflows to enhance marketing initiatives and user experiences.
- Practical and organized, familiar with music industry tools for analytics, smart-linking, advertising, social posting, etc.
- Experience with fandoms and understand how best to activate, excite and delight them around a release.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to track and follow through on multiple concurrent projects to completion.
- Respectful, honest and confident communication skills, happy to work within a team and manage others.
- Passion for music and a strong familiarity with the music industry, including being well-versed in a variety of genres and up to date on music industry status quo.
❖ BONUS EXPERIENCE:
- Feeding meme culture and seeding content out to help it spread online through various communities.
- Building custom landing pages, micro-sites, or unique fan/artist experiences.
- Integrating Digital Service Providers (DSPs), social platforms, or e-commerce solutions to create seamless digital ecosystems.
- Connecting various marketing platforms, CRM systems, CMS tools, or analytics platforms to streamline operations and insights.
- Ability to build custom data pipelines or automations to optimize workflows and reporting.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
