About the Role:

As the Head of Asia, we are seeking a leader who blends strategic vision, cultural fluency, and operational excellence across the music and entertainment ecosystem. This role will own regional growth, operations, and brand presence across all Asian markets—balancing global alignment with empowered local execution. You will be responsible for rebuilding, strengthening, and expanding current operations, partnerships, and market relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and commercial leadership across Asian markets, including full P&L ownership and regional revenue performance.
Drive rights monetization initiatives across masters, publishing, neighboring rights, sync, and licensing categories.
Execute multi-country growth strategies, with proven ability to scale operations across Japan, Korea, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, and additional key markets.
Balance catalog acquisition initiatives with new artist development efforts to achieve long-term portfolio growth.
Manage and deepen relationships with DSPs (Spotify, Apple, Tencent, YouTube, LINE, etc.), media partners, and rights societies (JASRAC, COMPASS, MACP, etc.).
Build and maintain strong ties with artists, managers, and local labels, strengthening GoDigital’s influence in the region.
Navigate diverse regulatory, copyright, and IP frameworks across Asian territories.
Localize global strategy into culturally relevant campaigns, signings, and market approaches.
Serve as a bridge between global expectations and local creative communities, ensuring alignment and cultural fluency.
Lead cross-functional operations by integrating label, publishing, and distribution workflows into a unified regional strategy.
Build and scale regional teams across marketing, A&R, finance, operations, and data.
Design and implement processes and reporting aligned with HQ systems (CRM, Salesforce, rights management platforms, etc.).
Oversee multi-entity collaboration, including joint ventures, minority investments, and distribution partnerships.
Act as an entrepreneurial owner, building Asia as a business within the broader organization.
Develop new revenue streams, including brand partnerships, live opportunities, and sync licensing.
Operate effectively in emerging, high-growth, and high-ambiguity markets.
Deliver key outputs including revenue growth, roster expansion, operational efficiency, strategic partnership development, and talent recruitment and retention.
Experience and Qualifications:

Demonstrated P&L ownership and strong strategic/commercial acumen.
Deep understanding of rights monetization across masters, publishing, neighboring rights, sync, and licensing.
Experience executing growth strategies across multiple Asian markets (Japan, Korea, India, Indonesia, Philippines, China).
Fluency in digital distribution economics, including DSP relations, metadata standards, and local platforms (JioSaavn, Tencent, Melon).
Established industry network with DSPs, media partners, rights societies, artists, managers, and local labels.
Ability to navigate regulatory and IP systems across diverse territories.
Recognized reputation that attracts high-quality talent and partners.
High cultural intelligence and understanding of language, nuance, and business etiquette across Asian subregions.
Proven ability to localize global strategy into relevant market actions and creative initiatives.
Experience building or leading multilingual teams.
Strong operational leadership, including cross-functional workflow integration and process/reporting design.
Experience in multi-entity coordination — joint ventures, minority deals, and distribution partnerships.
Entrepreneurial mindset with proven success in startup environments or expansion roles within global music or media companies.
Senior-level experience at label, publishing, digital platform, or rights management organizations (US-based or Asia-based).
Proven track record of artist and catalog performance across multiple Asian markets.
Ideally based in Singapore, Hong Kong, or Tokyo, and comfortable with regional travel.
