Description

The ideal candidate for the VP of Sync position is a seasoned and highly connected professional with 8+ years of experience in music synchronization and/or music supervision. This role is focused on building valuable relationships, capitalizing on a large catalog of existing music and managing a consistent pipeline of new titles. The VP will be responsible for proactively pitching music for placement in film, television, advertising, video games, sports, and digital media. This position requires a deep understanding of the sync landscape, strong relationships with music supervisors, brands, and creative agencies, and a passion for elevating the company’s music through thoughtful placement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the company’s sync department including strategy, pitching, and client communication
  • Develop and execute creative pitch strategies for new and existing catalog titles across all visual media
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with music supervisors, sync houses, brands, agencies, studios, and production companies
  • Identify opportunities for proactive pitching and oversee the creation of targeted playlists and reels
  • Work closely with A&R team to stay informed on new releases and catalog highlights
  • Represent the catalog at industry events, music supervision conferences, sync summits, and screenings
  • Oversee sync licensing deals from start to finish
  • Create efficient tracking and reporting systems to monitor sync activity and performance
  • Maintain a strong awareness of industry trends, advertising campaigns, and emerging platforms to inform sync strategies
  • Support partners by increasing exposure of their music through sync placements

Qualifications

8+ years of sync licensing or music supervision experience
Demonstrated success in securing sync placements across various media formats
Strong, existing relationships with music supervisors, agencies, and key players in the sync world
Deep knowledge of music rights, licensing, and clearance processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strategic thinker with a creative ear and a strong commercial sense
Passion for music across a wide range of genres and styles
Familiarity with music pitching tools, metadata organization, and catalog management
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated, collaborative, and innovative mindset
