About ANTI- Records
Founded in 1999 as a sister label to Los Angeles-based legendary punk outfit Epitaph Records, ANTI- Records was originally formed as an imprint for Tom Waits, beginning with the 1999 release of his GRAMMY-winning album ‘Mule Variations’. More artists were then drawn to their ethos – a label that represents real artists creating records on their own terms – including country legend Merle Haggard, British producer and rapper Tricky, and rhythm and blues singers Solomon Burke and Bettye LaVette. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, ANTI- is still the label home of Tom Waits but also works with artists across a wide swath of genres including indie rock, Americana, folk, blues and jazz, among others. Featured on the label today are artists including Fleet Foxes, Neko Case, Waxahatchee, Mavis Staples, Andy Shauf, Lido Pimienta, Rafiq Bhatia, Moor Mother, Madi Diaz, Wynonna and many many more.
