Warner’s ADA signs deal with Kanine Records in US

Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), the independent music distribution arm of Warner Music, has signed a partnership with independent record label Kanine Records.

Based in Brooklyn, New York, Kanine Records has been instrumental in the careers of such revered acts as Grizzly Bear, Chairlift and Surfer Blood, among others. ADA will contribute its digital & physical distribution services to releases from the label’s roster of artists.

David Orleans, President, ADA, said “Kanine Records is a label that’s pushing musical boundaries with their ability to spot and nurture the next generation of important indie rock voices. We carry a long history of servicing the best of the independent community, so it’s with great pleasure that we team with the amazing people at Kanine.”

Lio Kanine, Founder of Kanine Records, commented, “We only sign artists we believe in, and we strive to make our label the best possible home for our artists. A lot of that comes through our team we have here, but by partnering with ADA we’re able to expand our reach, which will create more opportunities for our artists, as well as for our company as a whole.”

Kanine Records was founded in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, by Lio and Kay Kanine. Recent releases from the label include records from Beach Day, Eternal Summers, Royal Baths, Young Prisms, and Zambri, while new albums from Bleeding Rainbow, Fear of Men, Valleys, and more are slated for release in 2013.

In June of 2012, ADA expanded its services to the independent music community by officially joining forces with Independent Label Group (ILG), adding the company’s expertise in radio promotion, publicity and marketing to ADA’s current offering.Music Business Worldwide
