Warner Music Korea strikes strategic global partnership with indie label and management firm FeelGHood Music to represent Korean star BIBI

BIBI

Warner Music Korea has struck up a global partnership with FeelGHood Music to represent BIBI, the Korean singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress.

The deal, announced on Tuesday (May 19), will see BIBI join the Warner Music roster for the release and promotion of new music globally, while continuing to be managed by FeelGHood Music.

FeelGHood Music is the independent label and management company founded by Korean hip-hop artists Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae in 2013.

The announcement coincides with the release of BIBI‘s new single, BUMPA, on Wednesday (May 20).

BIBI has surpassed one billion streams in the past 12 months, according to Warner Music, and completed her first world tour in 2025.

She currently has approximately 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Oscar Scivier, Head of A&R, Warner Music APAC, said: “BIBI’s raw talent and creative diversity make her such a unique artist. She is truly special, and we are excited to be partnering with her for this next era of her career.

“It’s an honor to be working alongside the legendary Tiger JK and the amazing team at FeelGHood Music.”

BUMPA was originally teased during a live performance in March 2023 and has since drawn sustained demand from fans for a studio release.

According to the press release, the track blends global pop, Latin, and Caribbean rhythms, and BIBI oversaw every aspect of the project – from songwriting and production to visual concept and video direction.

The BIBI signing is the latest in a series of moves by Warner Music to expand its presence in South Korea – the world’s seventh-largest recorded music market, with trade revenues of USD $736 million in 2025, according to IFPI.

Earlier this month, WMG promoted Jieun Kim to the role of President of Warner Music Korea.

In March, the company struck a partnership with South Korean management firm MAINSTREAM, the company behind artist Lee Young Ji.

Both deals have been struck under the watch of Lo-Ting Fai, known as Lofai, who was appointed President of Warner Music APAC in August 2025.

In September 2024, WMK also launched MPLIFY, an English-language label aimed at helping Korean artists reach international audiences.

The pattern reflects a strategy of partnering with independent Korean management firms and labels rather than competing directly with the domestic K-pop agencies that control much of the market’s artist pipeline.

Jieun Kim, President, Warner Music Korea, said: “BIBI is set to becoming one of the defining artists of her generation due to her unique creative identity and bold sensibilities.

“The partnership is a strategic alliance to amplify her unique creative identity.

“Warner Music is committed to providing the global infrastructure and creative support necessary for her to shine on the world’s biggest stages.”

Lofai, President, Warner Music APAC, added: “BIBI is an incredible talent who illustrates the increasing diversity of artists who are breaking internationally from Korea.

“We’re excited to welcome her to the Warner Music family.”

BIBI made her debut in 2019 with the single Binu.

In 2024, her single Bam Yang Gang topped the Korean charts – achieving a Perfect All-Kill across all domestic streaming platforms – and the company says it helped secure her 13 awards, including honors at the MAMA Awards and Melon Music Awards.

Her 2025 sophomore album, EVE: ROMANCE, was a 14-track release that fueled her first world tour, spanning Asia, Australasia, and North America.

Beyond music, BIBI has appeared in the film Hopeless and TV series including The Worst of Evil, and has partnered with brands including Burberry, BVLGARI, Valentino, Coca-Cola, and Samsung.

Tiger JK, CEO of FeelGHood Music, said: “We’re excited to begin this new partnership with Warner Music.

“From early on, we felt strongly aligned with Oscar’s vision for building globally impactful artists out of Asia, while preserving their individuality and creative identity.

“As BIBI continues to grow worldwide, it feels meaningful to partner with a team that truly understands both her artistry and her potential.

“We’re already inspired by the music and ideas we’ve begun creating together.”

BIBI was discovered by Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae after uploading self-produced music to SoundCloud, and signed to FeelGHood Music in 2017.

She first gained wider attention as a finalist on the SBS competition show The Fan in 2018.

Warner Music‘s push into South Korea comes as its major-label rivals have also been deepening their footprint in the market.

Universal Music Group holds a 10-year distribution and partnership deal with HYBE, the company behind BTS, and the two companies co-created girl group KATSEYE through a joint venture with Geffen Recordsas previously reported by MBW.

Rob Stringer, Chairman of Sony Music Group and CEO of Sony Music Entertainmenttold investors last year that the company had concluded transactions with independent labels in South Korea as part of a broader push into non-English-language markets.

South Korea’s domestic K-pop agencies – HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment – continue to dominate the market’s artist development pipeline, but the three majors have increasingly sought partnerships and acquisitions in the country as Korean music’s international audience grows.Music Business Worldwide
