Warner Music Italy has acquired the recorded music catalog of Asian Fake, the Milan-based independent label behind Coma_Cose and Ketama126.
The agreement, announced on Wednesday (June 3), was signed with Asian Fake’s parent company, House of Music S.r.l. (HOM).
Warner Music says it will develop the catalog across international markets using its distribution network.
House of Music says the catalog spans a decade of productions that shaped Italy’s independent music scene.
Asian Fake was co-founded in 2017 by Filippo Palazzo. The label built its roster around Italy‘s urban and indie-pop scene. It has released music by Italian acts including Coma_Cose and Ketama126.
House of Music says the sale will free up capital to focus on discovering, incubating, and scaling early-stage talent.
HOM says its ecosystem will continue to expand by integrating boutique labels and acting as an incubator for new talent.
“This catalog represents a decade of boundary-pushing creativity that has left an indelible mark on independent culture.”
Pico Cibelli, Warner Music Italy
Pico Cibelli, CEO & Chairman of Warner Music Italy, said: “We are incredibly proud to welcome the Asian Fake catalog to Warner Music Italy, marking a pivotal milestone in our ongoing acquisition strategy.
“This catalog represents a decade of boundary-pushing creativity that has left an indelible mark on independent culture. Our mission is to honor this remarkable heritage, amplifying its impact both within the Italian market and on the global stage by utilizing Warner Music‘s full ecosystem.”
“In Warner Music, we have found a powerhouse partner uniquely equipped to guarantee the continuity, care, and global development of the Asian Fake legacy.”
Yuri Ferioli, House of Music
Yuri Ferioli, CEO of House of Music, added: “This agreement aligns perfectly with House of Music’s long-term vision.
“In Warner Music, we have found a powerhouse partner uniquely equipped to guarantee the continuity, care, and global development of the Asian Fake legacy.
“This transition allows HOM to scale our business model, double down on our ecosystem of fresh labels, and accelerate our role as cultural curators. We are merging cultural identity with sharp talent development to drive sustainable economic growth.”
The acquisition marks the latest for Warner Music Italy.
In January 2025, parent Warner Music Group acquired the Italo disco label DWA Records, in a deal whose financial terms were also not disclosed.
That transaction brought more than 250 master recordings under Warner Music Group, including The Rhythm of the Night by Corona.
Pico Cibelli has led Warner Music Italy since the end of 2022.
He told MBW in a November interview that the company’s annual revenue had risen by more than 60% during his tenure.
The company marked its 50th anniversary in the Italian market in 2025 and restructured its frontline operations with the launch of Warner Records Italy and Atlantic Records Italy.
Italy‘s recorded music trade revenues rose 9.7% YoY to €208.1 million in the first half of 2025, according to industry body FIMI.
Subscription streaming revenues in the market grew 12.7% YoY in the same period.
“In 2017, we anticipated a massive cultural shift that the traditional industry was still trying to decode: a free, direct, digital-first language that completely captured a generation,” said Filippo Palazzo, co-founder of Asian Fake.
“Asian Fake grew at the very epicenter of that movement, transforming a localized sound into a thriving scene and a lasting catalog.
“After nearly a decade, this incredible journey deserves new energy and a broader global horizon. Passing the torch to Warner Music Italy ensures this music will continue to inspire and grow.”Music Business Worldwide
