Warner Music Group is bringing its recorded music and music publishing sync operations together into a single global organization.
The combined group will be led by Ron Broitman, who has been promoted to President, Global Sync, WMG announced on Wednesday (October 21).
Broitman, who is based in Los Angeles, will report to WMG COO Tom Corson.
Guy Moot, Chair & CEO of Warner Chappell Music (WCM), will also have strategic oversight of the group.
According to Corson, the change establishes “one creative strategy, one commercial business conversation, one clearance and one admin path for all WMG sync rights globally.”
The new structure gives clients “a single point of entry” to WMG‘s full catalog of recorded music and music publishing, according to the company.
WMG added that streamlined clearances “will accelerate turnaround times, while a combined, globally coordinated approach will expand pitching reach across WMG’s roster.”
“THIS CHANGE ESTABLISHES ONE CREATIVE STRATEGY, ONE COMMERCIAL BUSINESS CONVERSATION, ONE CLEARANCE AND ONE ADMIN PATH FOR ALL WMG SYNC RIGHTS GLOBALLY…”
TOM CORSON, WARNER MUSIC GROUP
“Ron operates at the highest level and has been a bedrock of our best-in-class sync operation over the years with his steady leadership, extensive network and deep expertise in the field,” said Corson.
“This change establishes one creative strategy, one commercial business conversation, one clearance and one admin path for all WMG sync rights globally, speeding our path to market, simplifying the client experience and expanding opportunities for our artists, songwriters and the creative community.”
Broitman will lead WMG’s sync teams around the world, including team members embedded across WCM, Atlantic Music Group, Warner Records Group, and ADA.
The group’s remit covers creative pitching and marketing, new business development, licensing clearance, administration, and data analytics for all of WMG‘s sync rights worldwide.
“BRINGING MUSIC PUBLISHING AND WMG’S RECORDED BUSINESS TOGETHER UNDER ONE ROOF IS AN AMBITIOUS GROWTH MOVE THAT SETS US APART FROM THE COMPETITION AND WILL UNLOCK EVEN MORE VALUE FOR OUR SONGWRITERS.”
GUY MOOT, WARNER CHAPPELL MUSIC
“Bringing music publishing and WMG’s recorded business together under one roof is an ambitious growth move that sets us apart from the competition and will unlock even more value for our songwriters,” said Moot.
“Our WCM team will remain embedded in our sync business to ensure our writers continue to receive the care, focus and creative pitching they deserve.”
“WE ARE MAKING IT EASIER AND FASTER TO LICENSE OUR ENTIRE GLOBAL LIBRARY, WHICH MEANS MORE AND BIGGER WINS FOR OUR ARTISTS AND SONGWRITERS.”
RON BROITMAN, WARNER MUSIC GROUP
“Unifying our teams makes us a stronger partner for our clients,” said Broitman.
“We are making it easier and faster to license our entire global library, which means more and bigger wins for our artists and songwriters. I’m grateful to Tom and Guy for their trust and support, and I’m energized to lead this team into its next chapter.”
Broitman was most recently EVP, Global Sync for WMG’s recorded music business.
According to WMG, his team’s placements have spanned the Super Bowl and the Stranger Things finale.
WMG says the team also recently placed Led Zeppelin‘s Stairway to Heaven in the trailer for Greta Gerwig‘s upcoming film Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew.
Prior to that role, Broitman was EVP, Head of Sync for WCM and WMG, overseeing a joint sync operation in the US.
Before joining WMG, he was SVP of Film, TV & Advertising at Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
At Sony/ATV, he set up the department, which handled visual media placements and deal negotiations for the publisher’s full repertoire.
Earlier in his career, at BMG Music Publishing, Broitman merged sync for the BMG and Zomba Music Publishing catalogs with BMG’s recorded music labels, including Arista, Jive, and RCA, and oversaw the joint business.
In December 2025, Warner Chappell unified its own global sync operations under Rich Robinson, EVP, Global Synchronization and Media.
That move brought WCM’s frontline, catalog, and production music sync teams together under Robinson, who also took oversight of the publisher’s Audio Asset division.
WCM said at the time that Robinson’s team had placed Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love in Nike’s first Super Bowl ad in almost 30 years.
WMG‘s announcement on Wednesday did not mention Robinson. MBW understands that he remains with the company, working closely with Moot and the Warner Chappell team.
Corson, to whom Broitman will report, was promoted to COO of WMG on July 31.
He succeeded Armin Zerza as COO, taking on oversight of areas including global marketing, merch, D2C, and supply chain. Zerza left his dual CFO/COO role the same day.
In WMG‘s results for the three months to June 30, Warner Chappell’s sync revenue was USD $60 million, up 7.1% YoY at constant currency.
Globally, recorded music sync revenues fell 2.0% YoY in 2025 to $641 million, according to IFPI, ending a four-year run of growth.
The IFPI‘s figures cover wholesale recorded music revenues only and do not include music publishing.Music Business Worldwide
