Warner Chappell Music (WCM) US Latin and WCM Mexico have signed a global publishing deal with Rico o Muerto, described as “a fast-rising Mexican independent record label”.
Rico o Muerto was co-founded by regional Mexican superstar Oscar Maydon and manager and songwriter Alexis “Chachito” Fierro.
The label was founded in 2024 under Yusim Aladro’s leadership, and has three offices in Mexico (Mexicali, Mexico City, and Tijuana), and representatives in Los Angeles.
Rico o Muerto, in partnership with Downtown Artist and Label Services, recently signed its flagship songwriter, Víctor Mendívil.
Known for collaborating on the viral singles Tony Montana with fellow WCM songwriter Yng Lvcas, Un Pacto with El Padrinito Toys, and San Pedro with Ganggy, Mendívil is described by WCM as “one of the genre’s most promising acts”.
“We founded Rico o Muerto with the vision of empowering our artists, because as artists and songwriters ourselves, we understand their needs.”
Alexis Fierro
The roster includes Omar Camacho, Regulo Molina, Carlos Manjarrez, and Fernando Angulo.
