Warner appoints Magnus Ribbeklint and Mark Fry as General Managers in Nordics

Magnus Ribbeklint and Mark Fry have, in addition to their marketing roles, been named General Managers of Sweden and Finland respectively for Warner Music Group.

Ribbeklint will report to Jonas Siljemark, President, Warner Music Nordics and Fry will report to Niko Nordström, Vice President, Warner Music Nordic.

Their promotions were announced last week at the opening of Warner Music Group’s Nordic Summit in Helsinki, Finland.

Jonas Siljemark said: “I’m delighted to promote two of the most talented music executives in the Nordics. With Magnus and Mark at the helm in Sweden and Finland, I feel confident that we have the leadership in place to enable us to continue to build on our amazing success in both countries.”

Niko Nordström said: “It’s great to see Mark rewarded with this much deserved promotion.  He is an energetic, enthusiastic and visionary executive who has a great understanding of our company and the wider music industry.  He fantastic team player and I look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Mark Fry said: “I’m delighted to take on an expanded role in our Finnish company. I’ve always been interested in participating in all aspects of artist career planning. My new role allows me to focus on that even more. Combining this role with my existing Nordic marketing position is a challenge to which I look forward. I am excited about the prospect of building even greater success in collaboration with Jonas, Niko and the Nordic team.”

Ribbeklint has worked as Marketing & Commercial Director for Warner Music Sweden for more than four years.

During that time he has been instrumental in driving the recent transformation of Warner Music Sweden, which has been enjoying tremendous success in growing market share, attracting artists and breaking acts.

Ribbeklint joined WMG after serving as Marketing Director of Sony Music Sweden.

Fry has been Marketing Director of Warner Music Finland for more than eight years. One prominent mark of the Warner Music Finland’s success is that it regularly achieves more than 50 per cent market share in the country’s airplay charts.

Fry will continue in his second role as Vice President, Marketing for the Nordic region.

Fry started his career as Warner Music Finland, rising to become Head of Promotion, before starting his own digital rights management business and then working as Marketing Director at Sony Music Finland, before returning to WMG in 2008.Music Business Worldwide
