Back in August we learned that Jay-Z’s music streaming service, TIDAL, has spent $7 million on SENSO Tokens.
SENSO tokens are the in-platform, Ethereum-based currency of Sensorium Galaxy, the still-unreleased social VR platform owned by $100m-backed Sensorium Corporation, which was founded in 2018 by Forbes-listed billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.
Now, as part of what Sensorium describes as a “series of strategic efforts aimed at improving accessibility” of the currency, it has officially been listed and is available for trading on cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex.
SENSO tokens are also featured on other cryptocurrency exchanges including Bittrex, Kucoin, Bitcoin.com, and HitBTC.
Sensorium Galaxy is claimed to be “the world’s most advanced social VR platform” and its users will be required to use SENSO to access VR shows.
Apart from paying for tickets, users can also use SENSO to purchase “limited-edition avatars and add-ons”.
By the end of 2022, the company says that it “expects” that more than 1.8 million users would use SENSO tokens to access VR content on Sensorium Galaxy.
The public release of Sensorium Galaxy is scheduled for H1 2021 and users will be able to access it through VR headsets like the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift S and Valve Index, as well as PCs and mobile devices.
“Lack of quality content in the VR space has prevented this unique industry to skyrocket for years.”
Brian Kean, Sensorium Corporation
Brian Kean, Sensorium Corporation CCO said: “Lack of quality content in the VR space has prevented this unique industry to skyrocket for years.
“Sensorium Galaxy solves this problem by partnering with the world’s best artists to develop mind-blowing virtual experiences.
“And SENSO takes a leading part in this entertainment revolution, which would bring millions into the ever-evolving crypto world. Getting listed on Poloniex is a step forward towards our goal.”Music Business Worldwide
