Vevo Artists To Watch 2022: Wet Leg, Willie Jones, Enny, Andy Rivera, Poupie

MBW’s showcase of this year’s Vevo’s DSCVR Artists To Watch list continues with the following hotly-tipped artists…

wet leg

Alex Morley, Music & Talent Manager, said: “Wet Leg are one of the best bands I’ve come across in a long while. From the moment I heard their excellent debut single, Chaise Longue, I was hooked. Their energetic guitar hits come with a wry sense of humour and addictive melodies that leave you wanting more.

“Their partnership with Domino feels like a match made in heaven and we’ve no doubt that 2022 is going to be a huge year for Wet Leg. It was a joy capturing these performances and we can’t wait to hear what’s next from the Isle of Wight’s finest export.”

Wet Leg added: “We’re super stoked to have been selected by Vevo to be a part of their DSCVR Artists To Watch campaign. We had a lot of fun shooting this and are so excited to share it with you.”

willie jones

Justin Prager, Senior Director, Music Programming, said: “The tides are turning in country music, and Willie is one of the big reasons why. Ever since I first saw him perform over three years ago, I knew he was something special. With his soulful voice and southern swag, he’s bringing a whole new sound to the genre. It’s game-changers like Willie that make us so proud of ATW’s class of 2022.”

Willie added: “I’ve watched so many of these DSCVR videos over the  years, it’s cool they continue to support artists that are on the cusp of doing big things. I’m happy that they chose just one country artist this year and even happier that it’s me!”

enny

Jodeci Rampasard, Junior Manager, Music & Talent, said: “With an incredible pen and slick flow, Enny is definitely one to watch. Recognised for powerful tracks like Peng Black Girls and Keisha’s and Brenda’s, she has great ability in telling her story but also voicing the experiences of her audience. Having been a part of her journey since PBG, it’s been amazing to see her year unfold – but I’m even more excited for next year.”

Enny added: “I’m proper excited to be one of Vevo’s Artists to Watch for 2022. It’s a honour to be supported by such an impactful platform. I’m looking forward to what’s coming.”

andy rivera

Julie Fernandez, Manager, Latin Artist & Label Relations, said: “We are so excited, honored and thrilled to have Andy Rivera as part of our Vevo DSCVR Artists to Watch program for 2022. Repping all of Colombia, we are certain he’s going to be Latin music’s next biggest star.

“We are ecstatic that we were able to feature a Colombia label signed artist in this year’s global program, truly showcasing our expanding efforts with Latin promotion and support not only in US Latin but across Latin America as well.

“Andy was an absolute delight to work with on set. He showed up ready to go–head to toe in style and had the most positive attitude. We had a blast working with him and we can’t wait to shoot content with him again. With his beaming light personality, humble demeanour, and catchy music, we know sky’s the limit for Andy.”

Andy added: “Thank you so much for the incredible experience of being one of the 2022 DSCVR Artists to Watch. I had an incredible experience presenting my music on such an important platform. Vevo made me feel at home every step of the way. They are very professional and make you feel like family.”

poupie

Lyva Corvo, Manager, Talent & Label Relations, France, said: Poupie is what I like to call an authentic artist. Eccentric, spontaneous, energetic yet also sensitive, she has so much to share. She blends her emotions and personality to create a fascinating mix of trap, reggae and pop enhanced by a voice that transpires as much strength as fragility. I’m excited to see her rise and can’t wait for her to spread her uniqueness to the world.”

Poupie added: My band and I felt so comfortable with the Vevo team in the lovely all white studio. A big thank you to Vevo for allowing us to perform live in such a stunning set.”Music Business Worldwide
