Various Artists Management sells minority stake to US investor John McEvoy

UK-born artist management company Various Artists has sold a minority stake in its business to US-based entrepreneur John McEvoy.

Various Artists Management was founded in 2008 by David Bianchi, Nick Ember and Matt Luxon.

Its roster includes La Roux, The Libertines, Tom Grennan (pictured), YONAKA, Barns Courtney, Spiritualized, Reverend & The Makers, Zuzu, Elli Ingram, Vishal & Shekhar, Millie Go Lightly and The Hunna among others. The company expanded with a Los Angeles office in November 2016.

McEvoy is a California-based businessman and investor with equity stakes in a diverse portfolio of business sectors. He founded San Diego-based mobile device distribution company, The Mobile Solution (TMS), in the late nineties.

McEvoy also has a large real estate holding company with property in numerous US states, and has equity positions with professional US sports teams – Colorado Rockies (Major League Baseball) and Nashville Predators (National Hockey League).

In addition, he has ownership in numerous restaurants, bars and music venues alongside interests in several electronic music promotions within the US.

Precise details of McEvoy’s acquisition stake percentage in Various, and financial details of the deal, are being withheld by both parties.
