Universal’s Caroline International signs Future Classic label deal

Renowned Australian independent label Future Classic has signed a deal with Universal’s Caroline International for the distribution of their catalogue.

Future Classic have gained a reputation for signing Australian acts that can crossover and abroad with a roster including Basenji, Chet Faker, Chrome Sparks, George Maple, Hayden James, Kenton Slash Demon, Flight Facilities, Flume, Jagwar Ma (pictured), Panama, Seekae, Ta-ku and Wave Racer to name a few.

This new partnership will see Caroline, the global services unit of Universal Music, take on Future Classic’s digital and physical distribution in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux, Scandinavia, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the USA.

Future Classic recently celebrated its tenth anniversary with a two-day concert on the peninsular of the Sydney Opera House, FCX: 10 Years of Future Classic.

Earlier today they announced a US series of “club nights that get back to our roots” kicking off in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York and a concert at MoMa PS1 in New York featuring Ta-ku performing his first North American live show alongside other Future Classic artists.

Caroline International, winners of the Music Week Award 2015 for Label & Artist Service Company, provides services including marketing, promotion, A&R, commercial, sync and admin whilst utilising the global reach of Universal Music’s sales and distribution operations.
