Universal Music teams with new indie label Wonderland Records to sign Rendy Pandugo in Indonesia

Universal Music Indonesia has signed an exclusive signing of popular Indonesian singer-songwriter Rendy Pandugo, in partnership with Indonesian independent label Wonderland Records, marking the beginning of a new collaborative relationship between the two companies.

Wonderland Records was founded earlier in 2020 by former Sony Music Indonesia A&R Director Mahavira Wisnu Wardhana (Inu).

Having spent more than a decade as an artist, Inu joined Sony Music Indonesia as an A&R Director in 2014, where over five years he helped guide the careers of many breakthrough local talents including; Isyana Sarasvati, GAC and The Overtunes

Alongside label activity, Wonderland provides artist management and is committed to creating a fair creative and collaborative ecosystem for its artists.

The first artist to join Universal Music Indonesia through the partnership – Rendy Pandugo is one of Indonesia’s most popular performers.

Originally from Medan, a city in Northern Sumatra, Pandugo found success after being discovered singing from café-to-café, whilst surviving life having moved to the country’s capital Jakarta.

Since releasing his debut album in 2017, he has achieved more than 100 million global streams, including 20 million views on YouTube.

His new single Home is released worldwide today (October 9), alongside an accompanying music video.

The track, his first to be released since signing with Wonderland Records, is taken from his forthcoming album, due for release in 2021 and was finished by multiple Grammy-winning engineer Greg Calbi, at Sterling Sound, whose credits include Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour, which picked up the Record of the Year award in 2019.

“Rendy is the perfect artist to begin this collaboration with. He is an incredibly talented singer-songwriter and we are looking forward to find creative ways to help his music reach new fans globally and to support the next phase of his career as an artist.”
