Universal Music releases app for artists and managers to track streams, socials and more

Universal Music Group has developed an analytics app for its artists and their managers to monitor everything from streaming activity to social performance.

The Universal Music Artists (UMA) app can be used to view personalized, global data insights from Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and YouTube (data from Deezer will be included in 2020).

The app can be downloaded from Apple’s AppStore and the Google Play Store, starting today (November 21).

Artists and managers will receive login credentials upon request from their label representative. After first login, users can choose to use facial recognition, depending on the device.

The app will send real-time alerts every time a song is added to a top global playlist and will update every 30 minutes

They will additionally be able to track social engagement across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

UMA’s available features include an Artist Dashboard that displays Total audience, Total streams, Spotlight Songs activity, Spotlight Videos performance and Insights highlighting significant changes.

The Music tab will show the performance of Top 40 songs (overall and by platform, globally and by country) and YouTube views (globally and by country).

An Audience tab shows Listeners and streams over time by platform, Top platforms (listeners by platform), Engagement (active versus passive streams),  Top Countries and Regions (overall and by platform) and Demographics (age and gender).

The Social tab will allow artist and managers to monitor their social engagement across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, Followers (overall and by platform), Interactions (likes, comments, shares, tweets, retweets, reactions), Top-performing posts by interactions and will provide a view of which social platform and type of post gets the most interactions.
