The deal was announced on Wednesday (October 21) by UMG’s Universal Music Southeast Asia (UM SEA) division.
UM SEA says it will support Satur’s bid to become “T-Pop’s first global superstar.”
The signing is the latest step in UMG‘s expansion in Thailand.
At UMG’s Capital Markets Day in September 2024, Adam Granite, UMG’s CEO for Africa, Middle East and Asia, said the company was “on track to become a market leader” in the territory. He added that UMG had grown its Thai market share by 50% since 2018, through a combination of local A&R and M&A.
The What the Duck deal saw the label’s founder, Moy Samkwan Tonsompong, become Managing Director of Universal Music Thailand.
Satur’s second studio album is due in Q2 2027, with his first solo stadium concert in Bangkok to follow.
A world tour will then run from late 2027 through 2028.
According to the company, Satur’s music has generated more than 2 billion streams across platforms, with tracks including Fade, Dum Dum, Hide, Ghost, and Black Tie.
He previously released music through Wayfer Records, a label under Warner Music Thailand.
That included his debut album, Space Shuttle No.8, which was released in February 2024.
“At this point in my career, it was important for me to find a partner that truly understands my vision, one that can help me bring my ideas to life without losing what makes them mine,” said Satur.
“I’m excited for Saturn to meet the Universe and begin the next chapter of creating without borders, because at its heart, music has always been my universal language.”
UM SEA says it will provide Satur with “global, holistic career support,” spanning music development, artistic direction, marketing, communications, audience growth, touring, business opportunities, and collaborations with producers and artists.
Satur’s 2025 Red Giant Tour included performances in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
The tour also included two sold-out shows at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, which the company describes as “the biggest indoor arena in Thailand.”
In March, Satur became the first Thai artist to take part in a conversation and performance at Global Spin Live at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, according to UM SEA.
The company says he was also the first Thai artist to perform live on WNYW FOX 5‘s Good Day New York in New York City.
