Universal launches Infinity with Alejandro Fernández in Mexico

Universal Music Group has launched a new JV in Mexico, Infinity, with one of the region’s foremost industry figures, Alejandro Fernández.

Infinity brings together Universal’s label operation with its live touring division, GTS, plus Fernández’s successful Grupo Fernández company.

Fernández, a successful artist, is also the co-founder of Grupo Fernández – a corporation which includes more than 20 companies working on music production, promotion, A&R.

Other functions of the company, created with Vicente Fernández, include administrative services and even the construction, leasing, and operation of properties and estates.

“I am very excited to propel and drive the entertainment industry in Mexico through this new alliance with Universal Music,” said Fernández. “I’ve always been interested in supporting and investing in Music.

“Throughout the years, I’ve had a really good relationship with my label which is why I am sure that with Infinity we will strengthen and create various options and opportunities for the Mexican audience.

Infinity will be run by Carlos de la Torre Jimenez, current CEO of Grupo Fernández, and will begin operations in Mexico with David Bisbal’s upcoming tour.

Spanish Latin Grammy award winner Bisbal (pictured) will visit Mexico in October where he will perform in Mexicali, Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Pachuca, and Guadalajara among others.
