Universal boss Sir Lucian Grainge diagnosed with Coronavirus in Los Angeles (report)

Universal Music Group Chairman and CEO, Sir Lucian Grainge, has been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 aka Coronavirus, according to multiple sources speaking to Variety.

The executive is reportedly receiving treatment at Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center.

Variety further reports, citing multiple sources, that a string of entertainment industry power players attended Grainge’s 60th birthday celebration on February 29 in Palm Springs.

They included Apple‘s CEO Tim Cook and SVP Eddy Cue, in addition to music mega-manager, Irving Azoff. The event was held at La Quinta’s Madison Club.

The number of cases of Coronavirus in the United States has now surpassed 3,000, according to the New York Times.
