Jackie Davidson, Jackie Alway & Andy Heath among UK music execs to receive awards in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Jackie Davidson, Jackie Alway and Beggars‘ Andy Heath are amongst the UK music industry executives to receive awards in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Davidson, the Founder and Director of JD Management and long-time manger of hit songwriter Wayne Hector (One Direction, Nicki Minaj and others) has received an MBE for Services To Music.

Jackie Alway (pictured) Universal Music Publishing Group‘s (UMPG) Executive VP International Legal & Industry Affairs, has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the Music Industry.

Other artists and executives named on the Queens Birthday Honours included the likes of Beggars Music’s Andy Heath (CBE), Elvis Costello (OBE), Feargal Sharkey (OBE), and BMI‘s Karen Buse (MBE).

Artist Mathangi Arulpragasam, aka M.I.A has also received MBE. In an Instagram post on June 8 (see below), M.I.A. wrote: “I’m honoured to have this honour, as it means a lot to my Mother.”



In addition to her role as Executive VP International Legal & Industry Affairs at UMPG, Alway serves as Chair of the UK’s Music Publishers Association (MPA).

She is also a member of the Board for UK Music, PRS for Music, the MCPS, the International Music Publishers Association, a Board Director of MCPS Ireland and a member of the Council of the Music Publishers Association of Ireland.
