UK’s Plastic Head opens third warehouse

UK-based independent music and merchandise distribution powerhouse Plastic Head has opened its third on-site fulfillment centre.

Ranked as the seventh largest physical music distribution company in the United Kingdom, the company celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

Steve Beatty, Managing Director, said: “Constantly moving with the times and forging forward in a challenging age, the new fulfilment centre will allow extra capacity for our expanding business beyond the traditional music distribution model.”

Operating from a distribution centre in Wallingford since 1990, Plastic Head fully owns its own premises – and ships and controls its own stock.

This ownership chain, says the firm, means it can pass on cost efficiency to its clients.

Its charts successes over the years include albums and singles from Emperor, The Offspring, Less Than Jake, Green Day, Nightwish, Anthrax, Kano, Blak Twang, Ashley Walters, Bring Me The Horizon, Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Testament, Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse and, more recently, Def Leppard, Electric Light Orchestra, Magnum, Yes, Bob Dylan, J. Mascis, Mott The Hoople, Franz Ferdinand and Bruce Springsteen.

In recent years it has expanded into designing and selling printed apparel and novelties into the retail market, and supplying artists with tour merchandise.

More recently it has added official character properties to our roster such as Marvel, DC and Breaking Bad, and developed DTR (direct to retail) supply programmes for several European fashion chains.Music Business Worldwide
