Tuned Global, a B2B music and streaming platform. has partnered with Spafax, an international travel media network specializing in content tech and media assets for airlines, to offer cleared music playlists in in-flight entertainment systems.

The collaboration will allow Spafax to provide airlines with in-flight music using Tuned Global‘s content management system. Spafax’s clients include major carriers like Emirates, Qatar Airways, IAG (British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus), Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Discover Airlines and Edelweiss), and Air Canada.

“Our music backend technology has been used in multiple industries, but providing music to airlines is an exciting use case for our music and streaming platform,” said Con Raso, Managing Director of Tuned Global, in a press release.

“This opens new doors for us and the music industry, as we’re working with a leading expert in in-flight entertainment like Spafax that speaks the same language as the airline companies, understands their challenges and has the plug-and-play technology in place.”

The partnership will combine Spafax’s experience in curating in-flight entertainment with Tuned Global’s advanced playlisting tools to create a “unique audio experience” tailored to each airline’s brand.

Tuned Global says its “music-as-a-service” model offers a user-friendly content management system for curators to build playlists from a fully licensed music library.

Additionally, Tuned Global integrates with Crunch Digital, a music rights management company. This facilitates the verification of music licenses, ensuring Spafax and airlines stay compliant with record labels and publishers.

Under the partnership, Spafax’s music programmers and airline clients will benefit from a constantly updated and fully licensed music library, eliminating the need for additional research or copyright concerns. Additionally, the system automatically generates reports and facilitates royalty payments to rights holders.

“We’ve used other content management systems in the past, and Tuned Global’s is by far the best, according to our music curators and our clients.”

“We’ve used other content management systems in the past, and Tuned Global’s is by far the best, according to our music curators and our clients. It’s not only very user-friendly, but it’s also more inspiring for curators as it provides great music suggestions.”

The development marks Tuned Global’s latest partnership after collaborating with LyricFind in late January to provide its customers with more access to lyrics and associated data on their streaming platforms.

In December, the company teamed up with Web3 streaming protocol Sona on its newly launched music streaming platform. In November, Tuned Global expanded its footprint in Africa by partnering with Jumamo, a Nigerian music streaming app.
