Triller names top female execs for new Music Advisory Board as platform tops 27m daily users

US-based short form video app and TikTok rival Triller has added a number of senior female music industry executives to its new Music Advisory Board.

Those execs include Rebeca Leon (Lionfish Entertainment), Rosa Asciola (Spotify), Jenifer Mallory (Columbia Records), Elyse Rogers (Apg), Tina Davis (Empire), Phylicia Fant (Columbia Records), Dina Sahim (Sal&Co/Maverick), Rhea Pasricha (Prescription Songs), Allison Maccio (Live Nation), Ebonie Ward (Emagen Entertainment Group), Madeline Nelson (Heads Music) and Kaily Nash (Last Kings Records).

Triller states that its advisory board will meet quarterly to discuss challenges that the company faces, and collectively work towards solutions to better ensure what it describes as a “seamless integration” into the industry.

In the following weeks, Triller will also bring on senior male executives to join its advisory board.

Triller recently reached No.1 on the app store in 50 markets with over 250 Million downloads and over 100 Million Monthly Active Users.

Triller CEO Mike Lu confirmed last month that the Los-Angeles-based company has made a bid for TikTok with backing from London-based investment firm Centricus Asset Management.

The company states that dozens of top TikTok influencers have moved off of TikTok and onto Triller, which it claims has led to over 27 million users daily on the platform.

“I am thrilled to bring in Kaily Nash to help us put together this dynamic list of women based on her connections and foresight into who would best integrate with Triller.”

Bobby Sarnevesht, Triller

Bobby Sarnevesht, Chairman of Triller: “Triller’s core audience actually leans about 70% female, and when we took a look at our investors and our leadership team, we saw mostly men.

“How can we speak to our female audience if we aren’t also looking at it from the perspective of a female?

“I am thrilled to bring in Kaily Nash to help us put together this dynamic list of women based on her connections and foresight into who would best integrate with Triller.”

“We are honored that each of these incredible women said yes to helping push Triller forward into its future.”

Kaily Nash

Quote from Kaily Nash, Advisory Board Member and GM, Tyga Music/ Last King’s Records: “These women were not only picked because they are gamechangers within the industry but picked for who they are as people outside of the industry.

“We wanted to showcase diversity across various segments of music and give these women a voice within Triller.

“We are honored that each of these incredible women said yes to helping push Triller forward into its future.”

Correction: A previous version of this story stated that those on the Triller Advisory Board also included three other executives. These executives were named in a press release from Triller sent to media. However, Triller now states this was incorrect, and that the names of these three executives should not have been included.
