Tom Misch signs global deal with Universal Music Publishing

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has signed a worldwide deal to represent singer-songwriter-producer Tom Misch.

The 21-year-old Londoner, who releases recorded music via Kobalt/AWAL, has won praise from influencers including Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Clara Amfo and Jaden Smith – while UK newspaper The Independent has called him “obscenely talented.”

Earlier this year Misch released his acclaimed ‘5 Day Mischon’ project, recorded over a period of five consecutive days in his bedroom where he collaborated with the likes of Carmody, Novelist, Will Heard and more.

His latest single, ‘South of the River’ – an ode to his South London home – was released last month.

“We’re hugely excited to be working with Tom – he is an exceptionally talented songwriter and producer.”

Misch has racked up over 80 million streams across major platforms and sold out his UK, European and US headline tour in November 2016.

Last month he performed at Somerset House for their Summer Series, and he has sold out both his London October dates at Ronnie Scott’s and Printworks.

Recent co-writes include ‘Damselfly’ for Loyle Carner’s debut album, and he has earned a reputation as one of the best UK producers following remixes and reworks for the likes of Lianne La Havas, Mos Def and Busta Rhymes.

Mike McCormack, Managing Director of Universal Music Publishing UK, said: “We’re hugely excited to be working with Tom – he is an exceptionally talented songwriter and producer. Everything he puts out is refreshing, original and beautifully produced.

“Currently hard at work on his debut album – expect much more magic to come. I’d also like to thank Mark Gale and Pete Simmons here at UMPG who have been fans and supporters of Tom from day one and worked tirelessly to convince him and his management that Universal was the right home for his music.”
