Parola, a collaborative music platform that aims to ‘enable everyone to create, explore and discover music’, has launched its music app on iOS – backed by $2m seed capital from angel investors.
The private angel investments were led by Michael Cohen (partner at Capital International), Yanki Margalit (founder of Innodo, Ex-Aladdin (NASDAQ: ALDN) founder, Chairman & CEO) and Miki Tunis (Senior VP at The Orchard, pictured).
Parola’s patented technology enables everyone to collaborate, record and remix separate tracks of songs in the music catalogue.
Users worldwide can create a song together by adding vocals and instruments to classic hits, as well as collaborating on new tracks using their iOS device.
“Parola is reshaping the way music is created, opening up opportunities for a larger audience of music enthusiasts,” said Ido Ariely, CEO of Parola.
“We’re transitioning into a new music era, where users can be involved and engaged in every aspect and process of musical creation.
“We launched Parola as an open music platform, which is similar to open source, that is leveraging the creativity of the crowd. Parola provides access to the building blocks of music as a way to create endless possibilities and opportunities in music.”
Parola pre-launched at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2015, TechCrunch’s sixth annual conference in San Francisco.
Some of the features of the app include:
- ‘Studio-like sound: record and remix songs using only your mobile device and no expensive equipment needed. Parola’s cloudbase studio does all the work for you, so that you can focus on the music.’
- ‘Remix tracks: Every song in the Parola catalog can be remixed. Discover the separate multi-tracks within each song and be inspired to create your own music.’
- ‘Collaboration without limits: Create music with other users across the globe in near real-time. Invite other musicians to record with you, publish your music for the world to discover, and get recognition for your musical creations.’
- ‘Discover new talent: Give other users feedback on their work and give recognition to talent by upvoting your favorite songs with Parola’s “groovy” button.’
