The Orchard wants to expand its direct to artist business in China.

That’s according to a job post spotted by MBW for a Director, Greater China (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong).

The ad states that the Sony-owned distribution and services company is looking for a senior executive with experience and understanding of the local market.

This person, hopes The Orchard, will attract, sign, and retain new talent in order to grow its direct to artist business.

The ideal candidate for the role “will successfully elevate the company’s revenue and profile with the current client and retail base, and act as a primary conduit for new business opportunities to drive the business”.

In 2016 The Orchard signed an exclusive distribution partnership with Taihe Music Group in China.

The Orchard hired Tim Pithouse as Global Head of Artist & Label Services at the end of 2018 .Music Business Worldwide
