The Orchard signs new deals with three labels

Sony-owned distributor The Orchard has signed new deals with three labels: US punk rock/metal indie Tankcrimes, Easy Sound Recording Company and UK-based meditation/relaxation specialist, New World Music.

The partnership with Tankcrimes will bring 55 punk and metal albums to streaming platforms for the first time.

In an exclusive licensing deal with Oakland-based Tankcrimes, The Orchard will take over digital and physical distribution for all future releases in addition to a back catalog of 650 songs spanning influential artists like Dystopia, Cannabis Corpse, Ghoul, A.N.S. and Night Fever.

The Orchard will now cover worldwide digital and physical distribution for the Easy Sound Recording Company’s growing catalogue, including releases by Vetiver , Howlin’ Rain and Marianne Faithfull (North America only).

The Orchard will also handle distribution for new releases, including Futurebirds’ upcoming studio album ‘Hotel Parties’ (out September 25).

“All of us at Easy Sound are very excited about working with the team at The Orchard,” says Stephen Brower, General Manager of Easy Sound.

“The experience, enthusiasm and resources of the company have been immediately evident in setting up our September Futurebirds record, and we look forward to all this relationship will bring.”

The Orchard also takes over digital distribution for UK-based New World Music’s full 4,000-song catalog of relaxation and new age music, including releases by John Serrie, Medwyn Goodall, Llewellyn and Phil Thornton. While the label will continue to handle physical distribution, new digital releases will go through The Orchard.Music Business Worldwide
