The Beatport Group adds three new members to its Board of Directors

The Beatport Group has added three new members to its Board of Directors.

The group’s companies includes Beatport, an online store for electronic music DJs, Beatsource a platform for open-format DJs, Loopmasters, Loopcloud and Plugin Boutique for music producers, and Beatport Media Group “for brands and fans” of DJ culture.

The new board members include Maria May, who has nearly 25 years’ experience working with DJs, producers and artists.

She is currently Head of Electronic/International at Creative Artists Agency and served on the board of advisors of the Association For Electronic Music for almost a decade.

May also currently serves on the Board for The Night Time Industries Association in the UK.

Adrienne Everett, meanwhile, is “a veteran of Wall Street, private equity and banking” according to Beatport, having most recently worked as an Account Director at Linkedin in Marketing Solutions covering Enterprise Financial Services clients.

Also joining the Beatport board is Troy Duncan, a Managing Director of Fortress Investment Group. Duncan is a current Beatport investor with Axar Capital.

These Directors join The Beatport Group CEO, Robb McDaniels and Andrew Axelrod, the Founder and Managing Partner of Axar Capital and Beatport’s majority owner, on the board which was formed in late 2021.


Elsewhere at Beatport, Matt Gralen was recently promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

In May, Beatport acquired music discovery portal LabelRadar.

In February, Beatport acquired UK-born music industry technology company, ampsuite.
