It’s the UK music industry’s most enjoyable night out – and it’s back for 2018.
The A&R Awards in association with Abbey Road Studios will return in November at a swanky new venue – the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London.
Taking place on the evening of Tuesday, November 6, the UK-focused event will bring together the very best creative talents working on the commercial side of the British music business.
Once again, the ceremony will recognise the finest achievements in multiple genres, while promising three extra special moments:
- The Sir George Martin Award. Named in honour of the legendary Beatles producer, this award recognises an individual with a proven track record of truly artist-friendly A&R – combined with commercial success – who continues to sign contemporary hitmakers;
- The Artist Loyalty Award, which celebrates a longstanding relationship between an industry exec and a standout artist who have stood by each other through thick and thin over the years;
- The A&R Icon Award, presented to an individual whose actions have truly changed the game for the creative side of the UK music business, and whose influence continues to reverberate today.
Individual ‘A&R Of The Year’ awards will be handed out in separate genre categories including Electronic/Dance, Hip-hop/Grime, Pop/R&B, Adult Contemporary and Rock/Alternative.
Elsewhere, there will be Songwriter and Producer of the Year gongs – voted for by a panel of the most influential A&R figures in the global industry – in addition to an A&R Administrator award.
Team awards will include two Publisher Of The Year categories, in addition to Major Label Of The Year, Independent Label Of The Year and Management Company (aka The David Enthoven Award).
Finalists will be announced in a couple of months, selected by Music Business Worldwide’s global network of esteemed industry allies.
Platinum and Gold tables are available to purchase today, but are expected to sell out fast – check out the official A&R Awards 2018 site through here for more details.
A run of fantastic sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks. If you are interested in our remaining sponsorship opportunities, please contact Dave@musicbizworldwide.com.
MBW is proud to present the A&R Awards in association with Abbey Road Studios, who return to support the event for a third consecutive year.
Abbey Road Studios MD Isabel Garvey said: “We’ve seen some extraordinary talent pass through our doors over the last year: from established names and legends, to new signings and the artists every A&R seems to be chasing. So we are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of the A&R community by continuing our association with the MBW A&R Awards.”Music Business Worldwide
