Saban Music Group was founded in 2019 by billionaire tycoon Haim Saban, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saban Capital Group LLC.

Saban Capital invested some $500 million into Saban Music Group, which is led by CEO, Gus Lopez.

In January 2020, Saban Music Group signed a global distribution and marketing agreement with Universal Music Group.

Universal Music Group Chairman and CEO, Sir Lucian Grainge, said at the time the partnership would deliver “groundbreaking new artists and music to fans around the globe”.


Standout Saban Music Group releases

Saban Music Group’s first release arrived in January 2020: Further Up (Na Na Na Na Na) by Static and Ben El featuring Pitbull, which has now pulled in over 35 million views on YouTube.

The Latin version of the song, Subelo, which also features Chesca, hit No.1 on Billboard‘s Latin Airplay chart in March 2020.

In December 2020, Saban Music Group celebrated another Billboard Latin Airplay No.1

Puerto Rican star Chesca’s Te Quiero Baby (I Love You Baby) landed on the chart’s top spot – as well as hitting No.1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm and Latin Pop charts.

In August 2020, Saban Music Group CEO, Gus Lopez, told MBW that Chesca was “one the most talented and versatile artists I have ever worked with” adding that “Te Quiero Baby (I Love You Baby) shows yet again why we are so committed to her development”.Music Business Worldwide
