Amongst those songs are Beiber’s hit single What Do You Mean?, which  has sold over 14 million copies worldwide and reached No.1 in more than 25 countries.

The album also included Where Are You Now?, which has sold over 9 million copies.

The English language version of Despacito, known as Despacito (Justin Bieber Remix) by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee was No.1 in over 50 countries.  It was also the 2018 Grammy Awards Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year.

Commenting on his working relationship with Bieber during an interview on the MBW podcast in July 2020, Poo Bear said: “I’m blessed enough to have co-written Justin Bieber’s last three albums; it’s amazing. But I never get comfortable.

“I never feel like, ‘I did it!’ That keeps me striving for greatness.”

In an interview with MBW in October 2017, Poo Bear said that he writes “600 songs a year”.

“It’s like me in the gym, shooting free throws over and over again,” he added.

In November 2018, Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited (HSFL) acquired the music catalog of Poo Bear for an undisclosed amount, buying a 100% interest in Poo Bear’s catalog, comprising 214 songs in total.

In February 2020 Poo Bear signed a worldwide publishing deal with peermusic.

Appearing on the MBW podcast in July 2020, Poo Bear said that his advice for a young songwriter or producer would be to not “let somebody else discourage you”.

He added: “Also: just because you feel like something’s not good enough in your mind, don’t let that stop you from recording or writing it. Because you never know what the next hit song is.

“That [approach] eliminates the whole theory of writer’s block; there’s no such thing. The block comes from you not feeling secure or confident about your ideas.

“You just never know what that next smash is going to be. So get it out your system and don’t let your insecurity stop you.”Music Business Worldwide
