The Argentine-Venezuelan singer filed suit in both the US and Venezuela, alleging that UMG is claiming to own five albums he recorded from 1986 to 1992.
The complaints covered malicious online posts, the illegal sale of the members' airport ticketing information, and breaches of the artists' privacy and safety.
Google argued that the artists licensed their music to YouTube when they uploaded it – and that the license covers the conduct they are now suing over.
The move comes less than three months after a federal judge in Manhattan declined to throw the case out of court, rejecting the defendants' bid for dismissal.
